you can try the free vpns maybe, like expatshield but it's such a pain, I couldn't get it to work...right now I'm using uktvaccess and it's pretty good. working fine for a year...though it's not free, 4 quid a month.

For blocked pages try  securitales.com  . 10 min.free trial. If you like go on and pay.If not you can continue to use trial,but after expired time delete your cookies and history and then you can go on.  Smiley

Yeah, I use a vpn as well.  It's a university vpn.  I would definitely suggest a paid vpn service, anything that is free will not work or not work well in China.

I use strongvpn, its performance is good and cheap at $55US per year.  You will have to experiment with their different servers to get he best speeds.

You will then have access to all the time wasting sites that we all can't do without, youtube, facebook, twitter, and even google will stop being so spotty

I have been looking for one myself...uktvaccess works absolutely fine! catching up with all the stuff I've been missing for so long Smiley
