Do you know that over a third of the world's population eat Chinese food daily? Even if it was eaten regularly by some only, Chinese cooking would still be acknowledged as one of the greatest and original cuisines of the world. There is an ever increasing interest in and appreciation of Chinese food in the West.

My question is: do you like Chinese food? Why? Do you like Chinese flavor for its color, flavor, aroma or the cooking recipe? Is Chinese food good in terms of nutrition? What is your favorite Chinese dish?

If you don't eat, you die - that's why I like Chinese food. However, generally speaking, it is over-rated as being healthy for you.

My favourite dish was a Hunan style dry hot pot with boneless smoked rabbit & loads of garlic, ginger & coriander. I used to have it regularly at a traditional Hunan restaurant in Wuhan. Another favourite of mine was a Hunan dish which was a favourite of the great Chairman Mao; a spicy dish of black goat which was only seasonally available.

I have had frog legs, beach worms, genuine snake meat, dog - not by choice, camel, donkey, snails - land & water, etc. The strangest food I saw was pigs penises - they are a delicacy apparently. I also had an acquaintance who liked to feast on sheep balls because they gave him oomph! Also in the south they like to eat barbequed rats when is season. And yes, they also eat cats as well in the south. Interesting hey!

I like the diversity of syles and flavours however I avoid fat, oil and salt so much of AnHui cuisine is off my choice list but there is still enough for me to enjoy a meal.

I also feel uncomfortable when my food is looking at me, even if it is dead.
