I agree that it is sad, as is the news of any death. But I think Truthteller's assertions are way over the top and offensive on several scores.
First, the deceased was likely decently laid to rest by his close family and friends or at the very least by his wife/partner, which makes Truthteller's outrage over the absense of a funeral quite unwarranted, if not weird. Does he think it would be appropriate for strangers (foreign or chinese) to attend the funeral?
Second, implicit in Truthteller's posts is a belief that this is an issue for foreigners and that the deceased has been in someway let down by us. If he died of unexpected and natural causes, there is really nothing anyone can do. If he suffered from a communicable disease, maltreatment, negligence, had been killed or something of the sort, then it would be a matter of interest to public and should be published in the papers to make people 'give a shit'. Otherwise, it is a private matter for his friends and family.
Third, what is the 'real business' of foreigners in Hefei?
Finally, I am surpised by the anti-foreigner sentiment so obvious in Truthteller's posts and wonder how widespread it really is.
