Hello everyone!  I'm new here.  I'm a middle-aged American woman in need of a haircut.  When I lived in Ma'anshan, I had one very entertaining haircut that was definitely worth the price of admission, but they barely removed any hair.  I didn't have another decent cut until I visited the states.  I can't wait that long for a cut this time.  Is there anywhere they cut hair and speak a little English? Or, someone who is good enough at cutting fine Irish hair that I wouldn't need to talk?   I'm learning Chinese, but my limited vocabulary does not extend to hair vocabulary.

I am afraid I don't really have any recommendations as far as english speaking barbers go.

But I was interested to read that you once lived in Ma'anshan, since I am considering making a short trip there. As a former resident of that city, do you consider it worth a visit? And if so, what would you recommend seeing?

This is for Luiz.  Ma'anshan has some nice people, parks, and shopping and a larger expat population percentage-wise.  The taxi drivers there are some of the nicest in China. However, we usually went to Nanjing for fun, sites, food.  It was a 40 minute bus ride to Nanjing, where the metro made it really easy to get around.

You may look for a hairdressers in 5star hotels in Hefei. 
I used to use one in former Sofitel hotel some time ago.Now it's called Grand Park Hotel.

My wife cuts mine. lol  But doing ladies hair is most likely out of the question.
