Having seen many posters ask whether it is still possible to get a 12-month F visa, I just wanted to let everyone know that 12 month F visas are still obtainable with the help of certain visa service providers. I got mine from ilaowai (
www.ilaowai.net), a Guangzhou-based company. Staff at ilaowai were quick to get back to me after my initial inquiry and the employees I dealt with were English speaking so no problems there. After a short trip to Hong Kong, I returned to the Mainland with a 12-month F visa and thankfully will not have to worry about anything visa related for the next year.
(FYI: Before I stumbled on ilaowai, I got in touch with a number of other visa companies and kept hearing that getting a 12-month F in Hong Kong was impossible. In the end, I proved them all wrong…)
