Long Term Visa you Can Count On Us
« on: March 17, 2011, 02:29:58 am »

As China continues to tighten up its visa policies, many expats have been experiencing increasing difficulty getting visas that allow extended stays. Even obtaining extensions has become less of a certainty, particularly for F-visa holders.

We realize that many expatriates need to reside in China for extended periods of time. We’re thrilled to let you know that Ilaowai can now help secure one year residence permits. With the residence permit, you will be able to stay in China without having to worry about getting extensions or making visa runs to Hong Kong every time your duration of stay has reached its end.

Ilaowai provides fast and reliable visa support for all nationalities. With more than five years experience and multiple channels to work with, we’re able to obtain results that other agencies simply cannot deliver.

Speak with one of our agents and find out what we can do for you.

Re-entering China with Resident Permit in old passport
« Reply #1 on: October 15, 2011, 12:45:58 pm »

I currently hold a Resident Permit valid till end 2012 but wish to renew my passport when I take home leave early next year.

I intend to re-enter China with my new passport and Resident Permit in the old passport. But, I was told by a travel agency that I need to get a business visa on my new passport to re-enter China. This sounds unreasonable, therefore I would like to check if any of you have similar experience? How did you get through this?

Thanks, in anticipation...

Changing passport
« Reply #2 on: October 15, 2011, 11:36:31 pm »

My first trip here, my passport got cleaned in the washing machine.  :o
I had to replace my passport but could not get a Chinese visa entered.
The Australian Embassy returned my old one.

I had to take my old passport with me when I left to go home to show customs.

When I returned, the new passport showed that I left China but never entered,
which created a few queries and I had to explain what happened.

Other than that, no problems. I suggest you carry your old passport until you have entered a few times.

It's always best if you could check with your country's embassy or consulate here first(assuming they do have an embassy in china) to see if they offer passport renewals.
In my case, i had to go to my country's the embassy in Beijing, applied for a new passport, got it, then took my old one with the valid visa on it, together my house registration paper and ofc the new one....
went to the immigration office t Sanxiao kou and got my visa transferred to the new one!

Thanks! I managed to check with Hefei Immigration department thru this number:- 0551-2624550(office hours 9:00----17:00)

Mike is right, just bring along new + old passport and I should be fine. My worry was that Hefei immigration may be more stringent than Shanghai.

Additional Info for Malaysian/Singaporean: There's direct flight Singapore <--> Hefei by Hainan Airlines. In-flight condition sucks but less the hassle of transitting in PVG...  ;)
