Hi. Glad to see the forum is back up. Good work.
Back on the old one there was a number of an American dentist in Hefei - does anyone have his number? Or maybe another dentist recommendation? thanks.

For the dentist that I mentioned earlier in the thread, it's best to contact him directly to find out about the current rates for those procedures.  He is a nice guy that will give you the rundown from a price list book on everything if you go visit him.

I personally don't have the address written down anywhere, but if you don't want to voice chat with him, just SMS him and ask him to send you the address via return SMS.  Then you could use that to show a taxi driver where the place is.  After the first visit, you will know where he is located.

Is Dr. Danny Tse back in town? I was supposed to go back to his clinic for some procedures, but I've been very busy until he told me he's going back to the US to take care of his sick father. I haven't heard from him since then. I have no idea if he has already come back to Hefei (if he ever really left  ::)).

I haven't spoken to him in a while so again, whoever is interested, use the number that I posted, either through SMS or voice and see if he answers.

:) :)I have a wonderful update regarding the availability of an American dentist in Hefei. Due to heavy demand for his expertise, Dr. Dany Tse is moving his dental department from within a local hospital to an independent new site and is expected to be up and running by the middle of April. You can still reach him at the same number which is 13696517099, or you can call his head nurse by the name of Patience at 13866737674. My understanding is this new clinic is featuring digital X-rays, intra-oral camera, and all of the services one would expect from an advanced dental clinic in the United States. :)

I am glad to hear Dany moving in to his own place.

About my experiences with him before, I find the work he did was good, but a little too pricey for me.  When I got the work done by his assistants, the price was more reasonable, but it was a hit or miss kind of thing in terms of the quality of the work.

Kaibo, not all Chinese dentists are as you say.  Just ask Aussie Mike about his experience with a dentist from Hupo.  I don't think it's fair to lump all into one group.  You think all western trained dentists are good?  haha  Go to Canada and visit some places in Ontario.  I am sure you will find a few that are not up to par.  So, western trained doesn't always mean safe and secure.

So true,
The Dentist I use is very reasonable and I've had no problem with my crowns.
He doesn't speak much English but enough to communicate. He's quite clever a picking up English as well.

I found a great dentist in Nanjing. Spotless facility, all staff using proper sterilization techniques, a great view out the windows, imported state of the art techniques, and a big-screen tv for your quests.  Let me know if you want more details. With the new almost fast train, to be followed by the fast train, makes the trip worthwhile.
