Australia wins seat on UN Security Council

Rudd started something here.  I'd like to see Australia on the permanent council.

Abbott actually gave Rudd some credit for initiating the UN seat as he has such a hatred toward Gillard.
Since being back in Australia, I'm watching a lot of current news...
Australian politics has taken a nose dive greater than Gillards in Indonesia.

It's shame she undermined Rudd, he was the better choice out of this embarrasing mob.

It's the influx of boat-people, so called refugees who pay thousands of dollars to criminals to get to Australia by crappy boats then riot at the detention centres because they were lied to by the criminals and are not automatically processed that piss me off the most.

Jump the que, expect not to be welcomed.

I noticed a few comments about the U.N. and prosecuting for war crimes for the invasion of Iraq in the comments.  I always laugh when I hear this comment, I hear it more from Brits than anyone.  The U.N. will never be able to prosecute any U.S. administration for any war crimes, it only exists because the U.S. still supports it and gives it a home.  Where would it go? How would it then be funded if it bites the hand that feeds it?  To another country where it would receive less security detail and where the world's leaders would be more susceptible to targeted assassination by terrorists?  None the less, most Americans I know, myself included, don't want the U.N. in our country and see it as a huge waste of money, it's a joke, a ridiculous catwalk of crazy eccentric foreign leaders on the New York runway.  One good example...  Gaddafi used to come to New York and try to set up a big tent on some property outside the main part of the city to sleep in.  It's all a joke, except maybe for its few successes in providing humanitarian aide (which are still mostly eaten up by corruption).

Congratulations Australia.  Maybe you can be the new home of the U.N. in the future.
