Pinyin typing
« on: June 02, 2012, 12:55:33 pm »

I have been typing in pinyin for a while, but I don't often have a need to do it.   I'm wondering if there is some good software for practicing pinyin or if there is a good way to utilize it?  I mean, I don't have much of a need to type in pinyin otherwise.

u may combine prcaticing with utilizing.  the quickest chinese character type software is called "five structuring parts" (wu bi zi xing), for pinyin software, i suggest to use QQ pinyin typing software. fyr

Well, I already use Google Pinyin, which is fantastic.  I am just looking for a place or a way to use it... a bit of a vague request, I suppose.

Hi Virginia9742,

Frankly speaking, I don't quite understand your request. But for your Pinyin practice, I suggest that you adjust the font to the one which is much bigger than the normal in order to make the strokes clear enough for you to see the differences among different characters. That is what I've always asked my students to do when they are learning characters.  Hope you find it helpful for your Chinese learning.

You could use the software by SoGou (Sohu) to type Chinese on your computer. Most Chinese are using this software to type.
