Sales of expired food fined
Authorities have determined that Wal-Mart and Carrefour stores in Changsha, capital of Hunan province, sold food products bearing altered production dates.

There are a few stores in Hefei which are guilty of this as well, especially the BoAoLi Yuan store.

WalMart at BoAoLi Yuan sells a lot of stuff with expired dates. >:( They sell several days old baguette rolls with fresh new date on the bag.I have a very bad experience there not only with rolls. That's the only store in Hefei I had an issue with expired food in past 5 years. :)

That store is so bad, I moved from BoAoLi Yuan. I moved in before the store opened because it was so convenient.

The last time I visited a Carrefour, was about a month ago or so.  It was the one on Chang Jiang Road.  Never again.

Before, I used to go to that place a lot, to pick up some "foreign foods", but that changed a long, long time ago.  Their selection wasn't great, and there was always too many people there for my liking.  So I turned to Taobao, and haven't looked back.  Just that one time of relapse.  ;)  I still can't understand why people keep going to that place, or any place that is considered a hypermarket.  I get the stuff I need from the local Joymart, which isn't as big as some of the other Joymarts floating around out there, veggies/meat from the local market, and the rest, from Taobao.

The split among those places is about 30% Joymart, 40% veggie/meat market, and 30% Taobao.
