That is the way i learnt, i think the biggest problem people seem to face is probably; the chinese person/friend (usually guy unfortunately) kindly informs you that they would like to be your friend/good friend.... I still haven't figured this out - maybe get something official made up  ???

ok so now being "officially" a friend (obviously after mutual consent) they would like to practice english, fine no problem. Though beware of the trap as most likely you will also start speaking english  :-X ! Ahh, how are you going to learn?

Let people practice their english on you of course but if you can already speak english why also practice?

...speak chinese  ;)


p.s. also writing it down helped.

Looking for chinese language teacher, must be professional, not just someone at college.  Should be able to speak reasonable english in order to get through my thick skull.  Anyone know where I might start looking?
