About my dog
« on: September 23, 2012, 05:09:08 am »

Yeah, I really don't know where to put this one, so I will use your judgment.

I have an issue concerning my dog (whom I've written about elsewhere).  She's adjusting to life here at the Uni  going from 5 acres to a postage stamp backyard she's not to thrilled with. And so am I adjusting.  She'll be registered and all that PSB stuff very soon.  (anything I should look out for there?)

My 95 year old grandmother in Denver isn't going to be with us much longer apparently.  She's asking for me.  (The oldest grandson - makes my aunt angry but that's another issue).  My goal is that she would hang on until Chinese New Year, when we are on break, but I'm not convinced that  she will live that long, that in her own words, "They'll toss the carcass out with the garbage." very soon.

I'm not exactly sure what I should do with Chica (yes, my dog is originally from Mexico - that's what you name a girl dog if you're a gringo who finds one in Mexico).  I don't know the people here at the uni very well; they don't seem to like the four legged type very much.

I'm asking for some suggestions if someone has been in a similar situation because I have this feeling I'm going to get a phone call from my mom to say, "get on the next plane".  Then what?

Aside from the kennel aspect, I'm not keen on American kennels; I'm less keen on Asian ones (especially ... here).  please don't suggest a kennel, unless you really feel strongly that's what I should do and you have a history with one.

Any other suggestions would be most welcome.  I really am at a loss.
