China driver license

Here is a new definition of a developed nation:

A developed nation is one where the police prosecute road abusers for dangerous driving - like driving on the wrong side of the road, driving without your headlights on, driving on footpaths, issuing parking fines, running red lights, changing lanes without common decency, etc.

Funny how many Chinese men think a cigarette is the answer to all men's woes and if I offer the nice policeman a cigarette he can't possibly charge me. I would like to take that ciggy and shove it up their left nostril.

The Chinese police are far more intelligent than that. I think shoving a ciagarette in their face is an insult to the common decency of law. For a nation state under rule of law; I have never seen so much lawlessless on the roads.

Pedestrians are definitely a problem but many motorists are a law unto themselves. If you ever wonder if people are selfish by nature - just check out the majority of drivers and the mayhem at a controlled intersection once the uniformed duty officer is having a cup of coffee.

Selfishness rules this planet, there never were any doubts about that one.

I would love to have a day as a traffic officer here as it would be such fun breaking cigarettes and handing out dangerous & reckless driving fines to motorists.

Take away money from fines is one solution. Take away a licence is another, but then three strikes and take away the vehicle for a short time is even better for repeat offenders.

No offence meant to the many motorists who really are considerate of others.
