The Hefei South Railway Station is suppose to open Nov. 12th. So, for those of you traveling in the near future, be careful when you buy your tickets to make sure what station you're leaving and arriving from. You'll probably going to be going and leaving from Hefei South rather than the older train station.
Just a general FYI.

I'm going to give that line a good six months before I ride it. Let all of the kinks in the project work their way out first.

You may not get a choice.

I took the train from here. Hefei to Shanghai and then back to Hefei.
It is massive. A huge beautiful train station. Looks like an airport. I really love how the Chinese construct their buildings. I am impressed. It took me a long time to walk from the train to the bus. I took bus 4 back to my wife's home in Hefei.
Bus 4 was packed and people shoving to get on board (which doesn't happen in my home town of Perth), but it was fun and enjoyable. Hats off to those who created such an impressive train station.
Hopefully they'll build a subway line to the city from here, and also one to the newish airport as well.
Hefei reminds me of Perth. It is growing and developing fast.

The plan is for the South Railway Station to be the main transportation hub of Hefei. Basically, it's going to be Grand Central Station of Hefei.
The Subway is still a few years off from being complete. The original plan was 2014.... See how well that went. But, eventually, the subway will connect from the airport to South Railway.
