Title: Can someone post a list of the bars/clubs?

I'm going to be new to the city and I just was wondering if someone could list all the nice places for me. It doesn't matter if it's mainly chinese or expats, just somewhere you've had a good time.

If you haven't done so already, get WeChat on your phone. Hook up with Aussie Mike (his QR code is in his signature). I'm sure he could be a big help in sharing some info.

Of that list, if you want to make friends, I suggest going to these bars (in order or anecdotal popularity):

1. Shipyard [Although I disagree with the best cocktails in town. That can be found at Backyard Bar where David makes them.]
2. Mr. T
3. Madison
4. Stone & Wood
5. Knights
6. Friends
7. One the Way [Which has two locations, the other is very close to Knights but is difficult to find]

Bitburger & Bacchus are mainly restaurants, so it's a little bit more difficult to mingle.

Tang Club, 88 Club, Phever, Phebe, SOHO, and MGM are clubs. I do not recommend going to clubs to make friends simply because is too damn loud and chaotic to talk to anyone. It's a place to go after the bar or a later dinner.

I'd definitely say that the first place to meet new people is Shipyard and go from there.

Great list, Humdinger. Will be my go-to guide for the Hefei portion of my summer.

Another question. Are any of these available on tap in Hefei:
-Erdinger (maybe at Bitburger?)
-Hoegaarden (maybe at Bruges?)
-Spitfire or Bishop's Finger (I know these are a long shot. If not on tap, anywhere to get them bottled?)
