Good morning to everybody,
my name is Luca from Venice, Italy.
With my wife we are planning to move to Hefei and open one good pizzeria.
Can somebody help me with some information?
I would like to find one good place to open this italian restaurant (specialized in pizza for true) but i don't know what the price for rent, so i need one rental agency in Hefei to ask for.

This place needs a good pizza place. I am tired of the ketchup-flavoured pies they sell here.

and i fear Tim is right: Hefei is still not ready for real western food, unless you combine with some special stuff on the side, a theme (Bitburger) or you have a sh*tload of money (owner of Spanish restaurant in 1912)..
anyway, being italian myself, you have a fixed customer there!
i'll be in hefei all the summer (i work for a chinese company = zero holidays!), contact me if you want!
i'll be happy to meet you and your wife..
i know some good place to eat, even one with some italian food (not on the menu: the owner lived more than 10 years in Italy and he will be extra happy to have other italians here to practice the language!!)

I really hope that somebody could give us new idea or help us to keep going with this project.
We are still searching for one real estate agency to ask for rent a 200 sqm olace close to the main centre in Hefei

Tim, i thought you were one of the "old ones" in Hefei/China!!!
after 15 years in Norway before moving to China i had already removed much of the lovely italian specialties from my day by day expectations and moved them to the special day wish list!!!

got angry? i feel you fired up...
i meant, old as time here in hefei (6 years, right? you're among the real experts of Hefei!).. i am much older than you, age-wise!
i do love chinese food and especially street food (not junk food - snacks as many chinese young people live upon, though!!) and as well i like to eat some western food, in hefei or any other city where i travel to (never been in HK yet..)
i don't do shots either, not anymore at least.. :) too old and too little drinking training for those!
but food-wise, i can't complain..
when i want western stuff, i go to metro, got something and cook at home.. or some frozen pizza there are not bad..
..but of course i also would love an italian pizzeria in hefei!!
i love the Hefei last part, i am sure paraphrasing "so what" ( Anti-Nowhere League/Metallica versions), since you mentioned you miss punk..
i actually assisted to a couple of nice punk gigs in a tiny bar close to keda, called "after school", tiny place, very smoky, mostly male students.. friends took me there.. a good happy hour on beers (shitty beer, of course!)

to establish a foreigners town in hefei ? how about the number of foreigners living in this city ? such town needs support from the expats here.

if for foreigner town he meant an area with more offer for foreigners (you are from shanghai i read, i think something like: hongmei lu - laowai lu, you know the place? i go there quite often when in sh!), you can be sure the laowai here would support the place quite actively!
some months ago they opened a seriously good japanese restaurant in mingzhu area: every night it is full of the local japanese and the traveling ones eating there! i go there to practice japanese for example!
and if there were more western restaurants, it would not be a problem for them to survive!
of course, they must be a mix, like bitburger, not mono-offer of western food (hefei is not ready yet!)

definitely need Italian food and I heard of a place called Lavazza is it still around. I have only been here 6 months. But I need strong coffee lol
also some real Italian food and dessert.

We serve a range of pasta and pizza, may not be true Italian but it is good.

when i was in Hefei i had taught to a restaurant how to make real tiramisu!
the restaurant was run by a man from Anqing that grew up in Italy.. it was Chinese cooking but with some Italian stuff as well..
unfortunately the place is closed now and he moved back to italy!!!
ahh... other times...
missing Hefei sometimes!!

Oh my goodness Tiramsu! I miss that ..... I'm sure we will have some place with good Italian dessert somewhere.
