Title: Chinese and Italian first for Australian National Curriculum
Post by: Aussie Mike on April 27, 2012, 05:47:19 pm
EVERY student in Australia will be required to study a second language for at least 300 hours before year 7, with Chinese and Italian the first to be taught under the national curriculum.

Sydney Morning Herald (http://www.smh.com.au/national/education/chinese-italian-lead-new-curriculum-20110131-1ab54.html)

This opens a lot of opportunity for Chinese to teach in Australia.

Ah but there are many Italian speaking teachers in Australia so your chances are still limited.
However, there are few Chinese teachers in Australia by comparison.
