I was just wondering whether anyone has any experience with setting up an internet connection at their appartment and can advise. My roommates actually have a wireless connection and a broadband connection, but seem unwilling or unable to share, even though I paid them to use the wireless with them. Does anyone know the easiest and cheapest way to get a new connection? I think wireless or broadband should work, but can't get a clear idea of how to contact the company or what it should cost. Thanks for any information you can offer me.

Okay, so exact location is 徽州大道 695 号 绿源小区 26 栋 102 室。 If you can tell me anything about the current connection that would be helpful. When I was trying to get set up on the wireless my roommate told me to go to a web site (I think it was 中国铁通) and enter a username and password. I attempted to do that (by borrowing the other roommate's broadband connection) but first of all it didn't make sense to me that I had to first have an internet connection to set up an internet connection and the username and password she gave me didn't work.

By the way, Kaibo, to piggy back on their wireless connection all I have to do is get a router and plug it into theirs? Where do you get a router? China Telecom again?
My roommates are Chinese. They have given me my money back now. But I would much have preferred their helping me a little more to figure out what the problem is.

Do you have any information for me Bonnie? I went to China Unicom and the guy there said if I wanted to get a broadband connection, I would have to buy two years of service. Since I'm going to be here for another 3-7 months that didn't make a lot of sense. He recommended I buy a wireless card, so I did, but the connection is so slow it's virtually useless. I suspect he ripped me off for the card, too.
