Hi Mike,
Thanks for posting the test-questions. Would anybody know where to register and take the test in Hefei?
Anything online about the procedure to follow? (even in Chinese).
Appreciate!
Danni.

Hi
You need to go to 车管所 which is miles away in the North of Hefei. This is the department of the police that deals with cars and driver's licenses, etc. It is also very close to the test centre for the practical element of the Chinese driving test.
If you have an existing foreign license then you just need to get it notorised by the public notary and only have to take the theory test to get a Chinese license. After getting my documents sorted I did the test, body check and got my license all in one day. By the way, the written test is in Chinese, but you can take a interpreter with you to help.
Hope that helps!
Richard

@小心地滑- Caution Slippy Floor . Thanks for the infomation, I heard it costs around 5000 yuan to get it done. Is that true?

Hi there,
I don't remember exactly how much it cost in total to get the license, but it wasn't as much as 5000. I am pretty sure I would've remembered forking out that much at the same time as buying a car! haha. I don't think it cost me more than 2000, but I did have to do all of the running around to different places myself!

Hey,
i did the procedure last year. I just payed about 600 RMB, the most expensive thing was the translation of my German driver license and the certification of the copy.
I did my exam at October 2010 and now they having an English and a German version of the exam.
