I'm going to HK in a few days to apply for an F-visa. From the HK Embassy website, it looks like I will need the following documentation: passport with 2 blank pages and 6+ mo. till expiration, copy of passport info page, recent passport photo, completed A/B application form, and invitation letter or the equivalent.
What I am not so sure about is if I will need any additional documentation. I have not been able to find anything else that is needed, but I want to make sure I don't have to make two HK trips! Another person on this Hefei Expat said he needed a blue form from the local police station. It this true? I had to get that blue form when I was extending my L-visa, but the visa office kept it. That was a lot of trouble to obtain, hopefully someone can tell me for sure if that is needed in HK.
Also, HK hasn't changed their policy on allowing foreigners to change visas have they? Their embassy website said something to that effect, but I think I will be able to.
Thanks for the help!

The blue residency form is important for L and Z visa, not sure about F however, get one.
Go to the local residency station and register, if you are registered, go there and ask for a copy.
Take extra photos as you may need 2.
Bonnie is available to give you any assistance you need.

So it turns out that I just needed my application, my original offer letter and my passport. That said, they told me that I can only do 30 days from the Hong Kong office! The girl said she would give my paperwork to her supervisor, and that hopefully something can be worked out... I hope so because if not, that would be really bad and incredibly annoying and expensive.

I got an F visa, not a Z, and I was able to get 90 days. Apparently Hong Kong does not want foreigners coming there to renew their visas. The visa officer said I was supposed to go back to my home country for to renew, which seems more than a little ridiculous... I plan on renewing my visa in Hefei when it expires in December.
For websites, I pretty much just used the official Hong Kong embassy website and this forum.

Kaibo,
it is in fact what the company told me: they are able to do all the process without me needing to go out of China.. but for now no offer yet.. so we'll see.. :)
Thanks!

Renewing Z visa is no a problem if you renew your contract with the same employer, a small issue of references if you change employers but changing visas is usually a problem except changing to L visa. Just don't let your visa expire.
