Title: The revolutionary Bar has lived its name
Post by: Aussie Mike on August 23, 2011, 05:39:52 pm
The Revolutionary has passed on.
It was a revolution to the American Pie, now the Knights Bar.
The similarity is the entrance, hidden, no signage and on JinZhai Lu.

That's where the similarity ends, except for a few faces.

Great place, when you find it. Menu price for a beer is 20 plus but expect change.  ??? ;D
This bar management has a lot of experience with foreigners, mostly good.

I asked for the beer menu (in English) and was given the beer menu.

Not only could she hear me, she understood what I said!  ??? ??? ;D

I like it, worth a visit.

Let's see what entertainment they have on weekends.

The new place is opposite KeDa Xi Men. Science and Technology University.
It's behind the buildings, way down the back.

I'll update this soon to give you better directions.

I understand that the area has been on the redevelopment list for some time now.

I thought it was to begin last year. They've been working from either end, museum and MingZhu and now focusing on WuHu Lu intersection.

The interesting thing is that the new location still falls in the same area.

i'm impressed from Mike's comment that you can talk and they can hear it..
that is the reason i never went to Rev and really disliked the place..

worth checking this out next time i come to the lively center..

It does get loud when the bands on, but there are places where it is poss to talk freely, even then.

mmhh.. REV was a bit extreme: loud with band or music or totally silent in the side room..

i am curious now for this new place :-)
same band as REV?

Not Ben and Gav.
They're just ghosts of the old Rev.

mmhhh.. the two best of the band missing..
the chinese guitar player seemed a puppet..
always checking the notes and never showing emotions..

the drum player better..

anyway, maybe friday will have a look.. if i find the place :)
