Title: Snowboarding/Skiing
Post by: ryan_madden on January 29, 2011, 01:54:52 am
Hey folks,

As we seem to keep getting snow, one thing that's come to mind (to have something to do for a week during Spring Festival, as some of us don't have families here to celebrate with) is some snow sports like skiing and/or snowboarding.

Can anyone recommend a good place to run amok (within reason)?  ;D

So far I've heard of ski slopes somewhere near-by, and/or hills near Anhui Uni, but was wondering what the collective brains trust of HefeiExpat might know.

Da Sh Shan, down the road.  ;D, over the curb, slalom the trees and broadside at the bottom.

And the gear.  :P

Just thought I'd get some recommendations for next year's Spring Festival, as I left it too late this time around.  :(

There are probably no ski resorts in Anhui.  http://www.chinatravel.com/focus/china-ski-resorts/

It depends on what you would rather do. If you have friends that are skiing, then go skiing. But if you have friends who are snowboarding, do that.

I do both, and must say that skiing is easier to learn. I started skiing 10 years ago, and has only been skiing about 3 times since. I started snowboarding and just loved that, then started teaching it. Now I am trying to get back into skiing so I can teach better on skis. I skied 3 times this year, at my local slopes. I picked it back up and am learning other things out there.
