Title: Chinese New Year celebrations - good presents to Chinese!

Yo guys!

my first CNY in Hefei, second in China (but the first one I was a tourist at my very first trip to China!).

i'll spend the holidays visiting the families of friends, so i wonder, what are good presents to bring them for the occasion??

just baijiu????
i see all shops are now full of different baijiu boxes.. but maybe i'd like to hear different ideas from your experience!!

Hi Andy
My wifes family require 2 boxes (2 or 4 bottles) of Baijiu  ;D .If someone likes to smoke than also some boxes of cigarettes or some fruit.
I don't like Baijiu so I still buy a Johnie Walkes whiskey for me.  ;D

It's best to give bottles of alcohol in pairs. One is not the done thing.
I brought a beautiful bottle of red from Australia for a friend and had to buy 2 more bottles of BadJiu and pretend they were the better gift.

Did I spell that wrong or is it my warped sense of humour.  ???

Huge bottles of cooking oil and bags of seeds seem to be common.

i'll visit a couple of different families.. i'll then go for the easy BadMoJo solution  ;D
(wrong spell again??? ops!)

And maybe some fruits..

Yeh i was wondering weather one or two bottles were the right way.
now i know. How helpful you guys are  ;)

I also will be stayng in Hefei most of the hols. So if ya get bored, you'll probably find me in one or t'other bars ::) probs lol 8)

OldDays (nogda bei men) closed from 1/30 to 2/8 circa...
