Life in Hefei
« on: November 17, 2009, 09:48:43 am »

Hi,

I'm thinking of teaching in Hefei soon and would really appreciate some insight from anyone who is either currently living there or has lived there recently.

This will be my first time in China (I'm currently in England), and I want it to be an authentic experience, i.e. bustling city streets and signs of modernity coupled with scenes of natural beauty and historical interest. Is this an accurate description of Hefei? Or am I asking too much to expect all of that from one city?

Thanks in advance for your help, any extra information I can get is really appreciated.

Hello ,Matt , as a local I should say that hefei is a bustling city , but not big and not that modern. historical sites in hefei are not so many and so hiistorical. But near hefei( just several hours drive or bullet train), there are lots to see. hope you can have fun here. if you have any problems, dont hesitate to contact me. ^^

Life in Hefei will depend on how you interact with others.
There's not a lot to do here on the surface but there is a lot if you look and meet people.

Work is not a problem around the semester turn over but gets difficult during the semester.

Contact me if you are looking for work.
