I was talking to a group of Chinese one particular day and I kept getting these weird responses from one guy, they made sense and where definitely non-Chinese.

His English was certainly better than average. I had to ask him if he'd studied abroad...
That's when he told me he's only been in China a few months... but he's noticed a few broads...

A friend I was working with was 5th generation Chinese from Hawaii, couldn't speak a word of Chinese as his families married Chinese bloodlines but only spoke English. Language was lost during the Melting Pot era when foreign languages were a hindrance e.g. war-time.
The students could not get used to the fact that he looked Chinese but knew nothing of Chinese culture other than what we learn in foreign schools and general life.
He had a very difficult time for a while there.
My question is, do Chinese consider you to be Chinese?
