A. pot legalized as long as you have 100 dollars handy

Marijuana now legal in Massachusetts

Okay, so the headline of this post is intentionally and grossly exaggerated. Marijuana is not legal in Massachusetts, but there has been a new law enacted that decriminalizes possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana in the state of Massachusetts. In other words, if you get caught with less than an ounce of marijuana in Massachusetts you won’t get arrested because it’s no longer a criminal offense. It is now a civil offense with a $100 fine. That means you should get cited/ticketed  at the most.

Now, not paying your $100 fine, that might land you in jail possibly, but if a cop tries to arrest you for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana while you’re in Boston, just point out that it’s less than an ounce and a law went into effect Friday January 2nd that protects you from being arrested and criminally charged for possessing a small amount of marijuana.  Of course the officer will probably still arrest you for resisting arrest or some such thing; so it’s probably best not to get caught with even a small amount of marijuana in your possession even if it’s no longer a criminal offense in Massachusetts.

Strangely enough if you’re under 18 your fine for being caught with a small amount of marijuana is $1000 while if you’re over 18 the fine is $100. There’s something twisted about that.

That must be for the "MUNCHIES". Grin

Australia had legalised it in South Australia a long time ago.

Western Australia has reduced it to a misdemeaner for your first offence much like a parking fine.

I stumbled across this article when I was searching for some chemistry lessons. It surprised me and is worth a read.
