Andy.
Bought my Toshiba Portege M833 in Buy Now ( I think that's the suggested store in your post) more than a year ago. You can also try the shops beside Babelas in Central Park.

Show them the money or credit card first then haggle the price. For sure you can get big discounts and some freebies.

If you can wait, you can buy in USA websites and shipped it here in China via Dong-xi.com, much cheaper with english version Windows 7 OS. You can contact william@dong-xi.com or wjh.export@gmail.com. Just mention  my name to him so that I can get my referral fee, joke  Grin . If I were to buy today, I will buy in USA because of the english OS.

By the way, if you choose to buy in US, try www.pricegrabber.com. You can compare the stores, lot of choices.

Dong-xi recommended this website to me.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion.. and I was going to try to get English OS from the shop, even if i have little hope!

if i decide to get through dong-xi, how long would you think it will take to get here?
the problem is that.. uhm.. i smashed my traveler pc..
http://aikidude.wordpress.com/2010/07/06/rage-against-the-machine/

 Lips sealed

so, without tv i need a pc.. but if the time is not counted in months, i might then buy an external monitor (yes, the eee is still alive!) and wait for the one coming from US.. and so you get your referral thx Wink)))

keep in touch!

Hahaha! Poor PC but it looks old anyway.... Grin time to retire...

Contact William tonight and he will give you your USA address, shop also tonight and your goods may arrive at your USA address after 3 days. Dong-xi will then deliver your goods to China in 8-12 days time. However, my goods arrived in 5 days time since I got a free upgrade to expidited shipping from William.

I hope this helps!
