I dont know if its possible, but in my old city the expat site had a fantastic listings option, with the restaurant, business, hotel info complete with address and review options.
For any 'newbie' this is invaluable information because with the help of a map you can usually find the place, with the help of the 'reviews', you can judge which places you want to experience.

Also maybe a section with places to visit, most hotels have the usual venues but more often than not the 'expats' have much more experience and knowledge that is useful to others.

Just suggestions, I am not a computer techie so dont appreciate how difficult this may or may not be, so forgive me if I am things sound so easy.

I think in hefei we have the yellow pages, i have seen this once at Hilton at the reception once, well that might be some motivation for you to supply us all with the basic and necessary informations we need...

I'm a bit short on motivation and time at the moment, not to mention that I have to go to an Internet bar to get access as my putter is really screwwed up.

Good suggestion! I found lots of  this kind of paper version just for expats when I was in Guangzhou.
