I was wondering if anyone could recommend any running areas in Hefei. I have just moved into Hefei No 1 middle school yesterday and was thinking the roads around here wouldn't be too bad for running but the only thing is that it would be a bit flat featureless and boring. So I was wondering if there were any suitable running loops in any of the park, river or hill areas. It would be great if anyone knew of any running events coming up in or around Hefei.

Some people in Hefei like to go to Da Shu Mountain for running in the morning. The air is fresh there.Pretty good. You can have a try.

You can try running near Xing (sp?) Hua park.  It's on Meng Cheng Road.  I am not sure if you are located at the "old" #1 high school, or "new" one.  The old one is still there, which I think is still being used, but they have, or will moe further down south.  If you are at the one near Chang Jiang Rd, then from there, you follow Chang Jiang to Jin Zhai Rd, make a left (north).  Then follow that road, which will then curve around a bus terminal, then will be called Meng Cheng Road.  Follow that for around 3 - 4 stop lights and on the left hand side, near Century Market (department store), you should see it.  The loop you are talking about can be pretty much around the park's outskirts, meaning the roadways bordering it, or better yet, why not run in the park?  It;s quite large, and you can't say it's not scenic. Wink

Good luck.
