Hi, could anyone advise what is the divorce procedure between a foreigner and mainland chinese with registered marriage in Hefei?  Does this have to be done in Hefei or could it be done anywhere in China?  Also, are annulments possible?

From what I understand...
Divorce is easier than marriage.
I can't be sure whether it needs to be done in Hefei

It seems to be a matter of providing reasons, and agreement and returning the marriage booklets to a building in SuXi Lu on the north side of Hefei.

I'll see what else I can find out for you.

Thanks Aussie Mike..Actually, I got married in Hefei because her hukoubu was from there. living currently in Shanghai but planning to leave China, so I would like to avoid a trip back to Hefei if at all possible.  From the english website it says something about divorce can't be handled by marriage office between foreigners and chinese..not sure if this is true. http://apps.ah.gov.cn/marriage/mainmenu.asp?newsid=173&title=Divorce%20Registration.  I've been to the suixi building before, but I'm not sure who to call or what number to call (preferably english speaking) to find out what can be done.
