Hi, I wanted to come to Hefei in the near future (in Shanghai now). For a first time visit, to check out the place. Is there any interesting expat event in the near future where i could meet people?

Hmm... this is what I'm talking about! Grin

As far as I know (disclaimer: I may not be very reliable on this since I no longer live there - in SH as you are now), most foreigners gather in Revolutionary Bar, Meigoumei Club (in Carrefour Changjiang Lu), and Soho Bar (in Hilton). You might not be able to go to those places in one night (like bar hopping) as bars there close really early like midnight to 2 A.M.

You should go and try Vienna Café, though. Wink Their cheesecake is really nice (way better than Applebee's for the same price).

oh i loved applebee's
and yes mei gao mei is a good place aswell as 39 degree's it all depends as i am not on the low or mellow kind of person when it comes to drinking but the rev/ bar if you like it dark and real old and quiet thats the place its more of a pub than a bar or club if you want to dance or hear loud music then i suggest
1.mei gao mei
2polar storm
3.39 degree's
4.as for best beautiful club this is not as good as the others but its close to the holiday inn hotel and bu xing jie walking street..
5.the rev. for those who wish to meet foreign uni students
