Hi Mike

Wonder if you can help? I may be posted to Hefei to open a new hotel there in the next few months. After living in Beijing for nearly 9 years, its time to move on to pastures green. I am married and have 2 young children, 8 months and 20 months, I am wondering if this city is suitable for an expat family ? I understnad Hefei is a little but frontier and in a developing state. Can you advise me on serviced apartments ? Schooling, (nursury) ? access to good medical ? I have had a look at the government website and had a look at tripadvisor for the hotels there, but id like some first hand info....thanks in advance....Paul

Hi Paul, I can put you in touch with people who have children here. They are happy as well as the kids.

Accommodation is great here. Cheap compared with many cities but at the same time expensive for what Hefei is.
Expect to pay between 1500-3000 RMB for good apartments in good locations but there are some luxury aparts that go for more than 5000 per month.

Yes we can help you with the other information as well.

I can have my assistant contact you and find exactly what you are looking for.

Hi, Mike! I just joined the forum and hope to get some advice from you.   I am from US and is looking at an opportunity to work for a US company in Hefei. Biggest concern for me is school for kids. Is there any American school in Hefei? If not, what do other expats do with their kids education? Appreciate your insight.  Jane
