Hello Hefei Expats,

I have just been hired by the Australian Institute of Technology to teach English for the 2011-2012 school year and I am excited to be coming to Hefei. I have some questions though. Does anyone know exactly where that particular school is located or the exact address? I have been doing some Google Maps satelite tourism and it would be nice to know where I can find it. Also, I have a friend who will be teaching at Anhui University, and I am curious to see how close that is to the Australian Institute of Technology. So if anyone knows where that school is located that would be helpful as well. Lastly, in a city of about five million people, what is the best way to get around? I look forward to your answers. Thanks.

I can't be sure which school you are refering to, I think you may be refering to GlobalEdu in the CBD Building.

Anyway,AnDa (AnHui University) is not far from the inner, 5-10 mins by taxi.

Hefei's population was 6 million back in 2005, way more now.

Thanks for the info on AnHui University and Hefei. I guess the source where I got the information about the city's population is outdated. I double checked the name of my school and its official name is Anhui China-Australian Institute of Technology. I don't know if that helps specify it anymore than before, but I thought I would give it a shot.

I finally found it. It goes by a number of different names, but its English name on their web site is: Anhui Zhong-Ao Institute of Technology. Its address is 312, Suixi Road, in the northwest part of the city. Does anyone know anything about this school or that particular part of town?

That is the school where they hold the IELTS testing.

Both UnDa and Anhui Zhong-Ao Institute are close to the city and are about 10-15 mins apart.
Zhong-Ao is a typical school to look at, not pretty but those who I've talked to who have worked there had no strong complaints.

Hope it helps.
