I need to get some life

Arrived in Hefei, started working (second day almost over) and living faaaaaaaaar away from the center.....

need some reference in order to move (by taxi) to downtown and get some life..
so i guess you can write name/addresses in chinese, so, suggest me some place where you go on friday or saturday evening, so we can have a few togehter!

i live close to Nanyan lake, in the very south - south east, temporary apartment provided by my company..

I posted a message recently about a possible move to Hefei, well it is confirmed we are now coming, my wife and two young children.  I would be grateful if you could put me in touch with someone who could perhaps help us to find an apartment.   We are looking for 3 bed minimum preferably in the Baohe area, as that is where the hotel will be opening.  I know that you had mentioned before that maybe your assistant could help.

Hello,
I work for a US company. I have an opportunity to move to Hefei for 2-3 yrs. I am curious to find out how do you find the life in Hefei. Is it easy to live in China? How does one manage the language? How are the schools in Hefei for children? What about spouses? Do most spouses do some work? How about social life outside work?

I find it an exciting prospect, but there is an unknown factor. I am usually good with new places.

Please let me know what things i should factor in to make the move.

I will be visiting Hefei next week for a few days. I would love to meet ppl and have a drink with the kolks who are living in Hefei. Please contact me.

Like any city it depends on your attitudes and expectations.

If you have an open mind and no expectations, Hefei is a great city.
It's still very much China, unlike Shanghai, ShenZhen and many other places.

The standard of living is comfortable and convenient for most things.
