A big Texas HOWDY!!!!

My name is Carl. Unless something major happens it looks like I will be coming to Hefie to teach US History and English Lit to students who are planning on taking the SAT/ACS (so they can qualify for US colleges) at the #1 Hefei High School.
I am curious as to what the city is like. are there any supermarkets where expats can get some of the products from home (cheese, butter and the like)? I'm not to worried about communication, since my wife is a NBCNUSC (Native Born Chinese Naturalized US Citizen) with some friends in the area. I know they can help us, but there are just things an Expat will know about that a local might not.
Looking forward to sharing a beer with y'all.

Most of the daily requirements are available now and quite a few other things however the choice is limited.
We have at least 4 Carrefours, 4 Walmarts and a host of other stores here.
We've been doing a good job here so many people can communicate with English.
