Is that the one in Hong Kong Square Building on the corner of HuaiHe Lu where FuYang and HuaYuan merge, opposite RenMin Square (Peoples Square), use the lifts to get up stairs and kind of looks like Bakers Pizza signage?

Never been there...  Grin

Saw it and have tried to get back there to check it out.  Huh

Is this another place I have to add to my list of places I need to try food at?  What kind of place is it, and what is their specialty?

its "italian" food...

has pastas, pizzas, and a large selection of appetizers and shakes/drinks.

its average at best, better than mcdonalds and kfc, but most importantly it is quite cheap. pizzas are only 19 yuan. id say the quality is equivalent to bakers or slightly better. nothing special, but worth trying

also, its quite a good atmosphere, clean and neat

I checked out Babela's in the Hong Kong Square building...
I was impressed...

The menu is similar to bakers Pizza but far more extensive.

I had Pizza of course with a dish of Lassagne.

The pizza is as good as Bakers with so many to choose from but they don't do 1/2 and 1/2 though.

The Lessagna was average but still good enough to order again.

The Hong Kong Square Building is on the corner of Huai He Lu and FuYang Lu where HuaYuan Jie joins.  You can use the elevator at the front of the building to go to the 2nd fllor or you can access through the main Computer Department store.

Well, I finally had a chance to check out Babellas, and let me tell you, I won't be going back.  I had a terrible time there, because the place was packed (felt like a sardine in a can), and the place was shiny has heck (picture a cheap looking night club).  The pizza really wasn't good in my books....not sure what my wife ordered for us but yeah, not good.  Tasted like frozen pizza from back home (Canada).  We had the onion rings, and that had no "life" to it.  Garlic bread was decent, but nothing to go nuts about.

All in all, I score it low on my scale of places to eat "foreign foods".  For me, I will stick to Baker's for cheap eats, and for a slightly higher price, City Garden which is near Babellas.
