I like the part where they mention "High Speed Railway".  Anything to speed up travel to Shanghai i'm game for.  At the moment, to my knowledge, 3 hours is pretty much the best we can do at current speeds.  I am hoping to shave it to 2, but that might be a pipe dream.

Oh well.  Thanks for the info, Mike. Wink

The layout of HETDA was one reason I bought an apartment there. As one can see, there are lots of jobs in the area, it is near Binhu, the new port facility will open the southern city, and of course Nanyan Hu is a potential credit for the future.

I also understand that Binhu Guang Chang --future development-- will be developed next to Nanyan Lake. It is proposed to be the largest shopping centre in Hefei.
I bought near the lake at perhaps the cheapest price per-square-metre in Hefei.

Fingers crossed, all will go well in 2012 and tall trees will still stand on planet earth! If polar shifts do occur, and the predicted 400kmh winds blow, might not be too many tall things left anywhere.

From what I understand, the fast trains will have the potential to zip along at 450kmh however, with the scandal and losses which have recently come to light, the government have opted for the slower and substantially cheaper engines for future orders. The fast trains which have been ordered will be delivered and commissioned for the high volume tracks but only run at 350kmh. They may run the occasional fast train through here depending on demand.
