Tim, I think it's better if you focus your attention on websites in the U.S., rather than a Chinese expat site.  If your main target audience is foreign companies and people as you mentioned, posted about your company on here won't do much.

 I had posted on here because i had not been on hefeiexpat for what? nearly 1 year, also since its for expats i am expecting some results and positive influence with in the expat community

also i have my own paid website, e commerce site and signed up so far on about 30 perhaps more on other b2b and b2c forums and website so far, i will be also signing up on atleast a total of 400 sites with in the year, my businerss is targeted world wide, and my relations for products are focused mainly from mainland china so i need to use both . the us,global and asian sites, and directories.



btw hefeiexpat to me? is not really a chinese forum as it is dominated used by foreigner

Tim, if your focus is to find "foreign" buyers, then I don't think an expat site in China would be of much assistance.  We are all here in China, and have access to pretty much the same stuff you do, unless you are invested in a company that produces these products.  If not, people can sign agent contracts to partner up with whoever they want to.

Now, if you are talking about expanding your business contacts in general, then yes, it doesn't hurt to do so.

  Let me correct you on that comment.

www.hefeiexpat.com is frequented by many chinese who use English in China as well as Chinese expats in other countries.
They may not post or even register but we recieve between 30,000 and 100,000 hits per month.  
We rank approx 225,000th globally and 25,000th in China, not bad for an English only website in China.  

It astounds me how often I meet Chinese who have already visited the site.

Mike, if that post was directed at me, I just want to clarify my comments.

For example, I have some contacts in North America that want various goods from China.  Because they are not here, they can't physically visit factories, so they rely on me to do that, among other things.  I would never post about my business dealings here because I am not selling to Chinese people, nor to people in China that are foreigners.

That being said, if I want to increase my contacts here in China, such as suppliers of goods or logistics people, then yes, Chinese and expats do visit this site and would be great to talk with them about various things.

That is what I meant.
